Golf Vacation Check List

If you’re one of the much-envied men or women planning to take a golf vacation this year, you want to make sure that you prepare far in advance so that you don’t forget some much-needed gear for game play.

Obviously, you want to pack your golf clubs.  There are many golf vacations that have club rentals for you, but if possible, it’s best to take the clubs that you’re familiar with so that you play a better game.

You never know what kind of weather you’re going to encounter on your golf vacation, so make sure you take the right kind of gear for rain, like a rain jacket, umbrella, or visor.

One drawback to playing golf in another location is that if you’re prone to allergy attacks, you might have your game ruined by a sudden onslaught of sneezes because of the unfamiliar pollens in the air.  Take some allergy medicines to ward off an attack ASAP.

Make sure you have comfortable shoes and socks with you.  On a golf vacation, you might be playing more than you normally do back at home, and you want your feet to weather the elements.

Pack plenty of extras – a glove and balls, for instance, in case yours get lost or misplaced.  Extra gloves come in handy when you’re playing a lot of golf at once and you don’t want to reuse the same sweaty glove as you used in the last round.

A small container of insect repellant can help fend off pesky bugs that you’re not used to encountering on the course back home.  If the weather tends to fluctuate a lot, make sure you also pack a lightweight jacket so that you can put it on in the middle of a round if necessary.

Sun protection is crucial to your health, so pack a hat and some sunscreen, too.  The sun might not beat down on you too hard in Missouri, but on the Mexico golf courses, it can burn you in an instant.

If possible, get a good rangefinder before you go on your golf vacation.  A range finder can help you navigate an unfamiliar golf course so that you get accurate yardage and don’t have to spend a lot of time looking for markers on the course.

Most of all, enjoy your preparation for your golf vacation because many golfers can only dream of the day they can hit the links in an exotic locale or tee up in a balmy 78-degree climate for seven days in a row!
